AdWords, SubtractBrains

Okay I know Johnsee has already posted something about this, but the novelty of it still hasn’t warn off.

If you don’t know already know by now, Google runs an advertising program called “AdWords”. This basically works by advertisers choosing which keywords they want their ads to be associated with, and then whenever these keywords are searched for on Google, their ads appear alongside Google search results and on webpages related to that keyword. These are located on the right-side of the search results page under “Sponsored Links”.

Sometimes though, I question the choice of these keywords. When searching for small children (nothing suss), eBay offered me Small Children for sale (see picture below). Handy if I ever own a sweatshop one day, but it makes me wonder if eBay put any thought into these ads.

So in my state of infinite bordom, I decided to try some other words. Here’s a selection:
