Online Face Manipulation Technology

The University of St Andrews is showcasing some amazing software that allows a user to alter their face online. The technology is based on Java and after selecting an image you simply tell the script where the mouth and eyes are located before selecting a transformation. I was not expecting much more then a standard photoshop filter but I was shocked. Most the transformations, even those to another race or species looked convincingly real. To really test it out I decided to grab a stock image off sxc.hu:

After selecting the face area it cropped my image to the below:

And now it was time for the fun to start. First, attempting to change the persons complexion:

Her gender:

Even turning the image to a manga cartoon:

The results are beyond anything I would have ever expected.
