BB is reporting that Cadbury has patented the colour purple in New Zealand. On the back of some of the cadbury products it now reads:
“Cadbury, ellipse device, dairy milk, the glass and a half device and THE COLOUR PURPLE are Cadbury Limited trademarks used under licence in New Zealand by Cadbury Confectionery Ltd.”
Thankfully it appears they haven’t had the same luck in Australia.
In other news, truffulatree, another Aussie blog has done a humorous review on people found on google images dressed as Optimus Prime.
With thanks to /. here is an excellent reason why you don’t screw around with bloggers. A blogger who realised he had been a victim of credit card fraud managed to track down and have arrested the perpertrators within about 2 hours. Granted they don’t seem to have been the smartest of crooks, but it just goes to show bloggers aren’t all stupid.
And back in Australia, it appears the entire vampire population has a huge problem after $30,000 worth of garlic was stolen. News.com.au is reporting:
“A THIEF has stolen nearly $30,000 worth of garlic from a northern New South Wales property. About 110 bags of garlic were stolen from a shed at the property on Rigney Street, Brierfield, between Wednesday evening and Friday morning, police said today.”
I stumbled across a large flickr gallery that has a huge gallery of transparent desktops. Basically what people do is take a photo of the area behind there monitor, and then set that as their desktop with the monitor replaced, giving the impression of a see through screen. A few of these are really, really well done.
