iPOD Nano - When Mini isn’t small enough

September 8th, 2005 at 9:43 am By johnsee (Tech & Science)

iPod NanoWhen Mini isn’t small enough. Apple has released the iPod nano, a new music player that comes in 2 and 4 gig. No fancy colours for the nano though, unlike the mini it looks like a standard iPod grabbed and stretched from either end. Also, this is replacing the mini, which has dissapeared from the iStore.

* Holds up to 1,000 songs and full-color album art
* Only 3.5 x 1.6 x 0.27 inches and 1.5 ounces
* Bright 1.5-inch color LCD display
* Up to 14 hours of battery life(1)
* Apple Click Wheel
* Charges and syncs via USB
* Accessory-compatible Dock connector
* Completely skip-free playback
* Works with Mac OS X or Windows 2000/XP
* Plays music, podcasts and audiobooks
* Holds up to 25,000 photos(2)
* Syncs contacts, calendars and to-do lists

EDIT: I just ordered one. Expect a review when it arrives.

    That looks rad!
    The capacity might not be what I had expected but it’s still a good looking toy. Keep my updated on that review!

    Yeah, Looks mondo hard. ;D

    I’m getting a 4Gig for Christmas. Black, so we can’t tell when it gets dirty.

    The combined lanyard/headphones accessory looks pretty sweet.
