God Told Bush to Invade Afghanistan and Iraq
US PRESIDENT George W Bush believes God told him to go to war in Afghanistan and Iraq, according to a senior Palestinian official. The BBC yesterday released an excerpt from an interview with Palestinian Information Minister Nabil Shaath - part of a series called Israel and the Arabs.
Shaath described his first meeting, in company with Palestinian Prime Minister Abu Mazen, in June 2003. "’President Bush said to all of us: ‘I’m driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan. And I did. "’And then God would tell me, George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq. And I did.
"’And now, again, I feel God’s words coming to me: Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East. And by God I’m gonna do it.’" Abu Mazen told the BBC that, at the same meeting, Bush told him: "I have a moral and religious obligation. So I will get you a Palestinian state."

Actually no it isn’t:
Bush is part of the evangelism plague sweeping the US, based of very rigid and shortsighted interprettations of the christian doctrine. This behaviour is bourne out in the ideological clash many world commentators talk about -yet get shot down for, but it’s obvious. They fear the middle east, muslims and think of Isreal as being righteous -there’s actually fan clubs for isreal in the US’s south.
It’s likely bush believes in what he is saying entirely. I’m sure like many followers of the ‘new-age’ religious movements he finds blindly following a belief system to be easier then being objective and realistic about life. Convincing yourself that God is speaking to you directly isn’t very hard in an enviroment where you see people writhing around on church floors ’speaking in tongues’ via the holy spirit (oh and by the way all you bible fanatics, the whole speaking in tongues thing is a mistranslation and so no one ever actually spoke in tongues in the bible hench raving hysterically is just people being retarded).

I don’t take this comment with any grain of truth in it. It may well be or it may well be excuses. But let’s hope if he’s in the office, something good will come out of it. And his intentions are good to the people.
