War in the Sandbox…
For those of you who haven’t noticed, we aren’t big fans of Bush here at sandstorming. We do, however, still believe a great deal in supporting the troops who have to back up his often incredibly poor desicion making. Tadpole, who helped contribute to our domain name story last week is an American who is about to be deployed in Afghanistan, and in good blogger style he’s going to keep up the blogging whilst he’s there. So if your after a direct, unbiased report straight from the middle east, check his blog out!

BS it wont be unbiased. Just the fact that he’s in the army usually means that hes all up for killing people for a living. Posts will go something along the lines of…Killed some arabs today…daddy is so proud.

First off I would suggest you actually READ my blog before judging it. Secondly, I am not in the Army, I am in the Navy, I will be working with Army SpecOps while I am there. Finally, I am not a fan of killing anyone, and I do not take the idea of doing so. Daddy most certainly would not be proud of me killing anyone. Daddy was not a sadist, and is long dead anyway. It always sickens me when people assume that because a person is in the armed forces, they must automatically support every war they fight in. It simply is not true.

Interesting that “Anonymous” doesn’t have the scrotum to post his name. Give ‘em hell TadPole.

Thanks for the support man! We all appreciate all the support we have been getting. The support of folks at home really helps keep morale up.

I’ll definitely be reading your blog Tadpole - anything not filtered and sensationalized by the media or spun by the government is worth reading. Godspeed, and thanks.

The fact that you are in the armed forces does actually indicate that you agree with war…your job description afterall is going to war. If you didn’t support the wars you go fight in then don’t go. To me anyone who goes to war is scum.

And there is a reason as to why I take the view I take…its not just because I feel like bitching about soldiers.

Grow up “anon.”. There’s a lot more to the “armed forces” than going to war, and there’s a reason its called the DEFENCE force. (Perhaps it has something to do with defending the civillian population?!) Take your ungrateful arse elsewhere, because if it wasn’t for people like Tadpole you wouldn’t be able to sleep safely at night.
The nation which forgets its defenders will be itself forgotten - Calvin Coolidge.
Tadpole: good luck and be safe. There are still people here who appreciate what you are doing for them. Take every day one step and a time with a smile on your face.

Yes I can see how you are protecting me from the evil that lurks…oh wait…who the fuck has ever actually come to Australia and done anything. You Americans are so naive. Your answer to terrorist attacks is to go blow up hospitals and schools in Iraq. So in return, the extremists then have a reason to go blow more buildings up. So really, all things considered, if you are going to call the middle eastern people killing Americans terrorists, then I guess your defence forces are also terrorists. What you do is no different to what anyone else does…sorry I forgot, you do it in camo and from the back of a B52 or a ship parked out in the gulf somewhere. And btw…as a child that grew up in war…its because of assholes like tadpole that I my life was somewhat shaken to put simply. I have NO RESPECT for anyone in a war. Its because of people like Tadpole that there is war. And going to someone elses country and causing havoc is not defending anyone. You yanks are so busy screwing with everyone else you let your own die. You should all be ashamed of the treatment your own residents received after the disasters in New Orleans.

Anon,
You scare the crap out of me. I mean that I shat my pants with fear when I saw the posts you have been putting up. I hate war. War is meant for two things: being fought and being hated. You can do both. Saying that a member of the American armed forces has a choice in going to war is just plain stupid. The Bush government is currently using underhanded methods to keep people in the war, even if they don’t want to or shouldn’t go. Read up before you start to hate-monger. Tadpole is a victim of a shitty regime as much as the people of Iraq and Afganistan. I don’t know much about the guy, but I’m guessing you don’t either, so lay off. It is good to hear you don’t like war, but remember that you can’t just start shooting off your mouth at people you don’t know. Also, at least leave us with a shitty made up nick like “iHaTEzOrTEH’mERicAnS” or “WarChild9999999999999999999999″.
Don’t anyone go being assholes,
Chaff

Im pretty sure no one held a gun to tadpoles head and made him join the defence force. its a choice. And now he has to live with the consequences of his choice. Touche on the 2 terms. doesnt really matter, its only a matter of time before another Bush gets president.

Thanks anon., but I’m AUSTRALIAN. And if you’ve ever been to our war musuem in Canberra, you’ll see the nice little Jap mini-subs they pulled out of Sydney Harbour during WWII. The ones that were going to blow the hell out of the harbour? And let’s not forget what happended in Darwin, innocent Australians died there too. We aren’t as safe here as you think.
Please don’t call me American or naive for I am neither.
Respect Tad’s choice, because its his alone, and move on with your life, because apparently what he’s doing doesn’t affect you. Let him deal with it. If your childhood wasn’t that great, I’m sorry to hear that, but don’t take it out on people that had nothing to do with it and you don’t know. It’s not being fair to them.
Now a joke, because this post is rather unhappy.
“There was a sound reason why the Isrealis did not get involved in the [first] Gulf War. The last time they listened to a Talking Bush they wandered the desert for 40 years.”
