Personally, I own an Openbook, which is made by aOpen. It was $2k about 18 months ago, and I bought it at the time for the higher quality screen then anything in a similar pricerange at the time.

Looking at it at the moment though, I'd probably consider buying a new Intel based Mac, and then using Apple's new Bootcamp, to dual boot with windows. Its still very early days though, so if you aren't too technical, it's probably not the best idea.

Finally, IBM's hardware division (ie laptops) were bought out by Lenovo. :)

Hey guys, I know this is irrelevant to the topic at hand but I think you can help me with something - Im about to purchase a new laptop and am considering the new intel duo power mac or a windows based toshiba/hp/ibm etc.

I use my computer for surfing the web, msn, watching movies/tv shows, dloading and listening to music, photos and uni work. Dont bother with overly technical explanations as Im kinda illiterate.

Ive read some graet things about the mac (im a mac virgin :D) but have also heard good things about the new Windows Vista.

Can you advise me on how to spend my hard earnt 2500?

Thanks
