even a 10-15 gig module of solid state HDD would be enough to significantly boost my performance, i’d only use it for my OS partition,
hybrid laptop HDDs with 1 gig of flash memory alongside traditional magnetic disks are coming out this year, i believe asus it was…can’t remember, but they are fucking mad. HDD disk is only spun up when new files are open, but all OS files and program files in use stay in hardstate cache, hence a power out doesn’t make your programs close, you can just recomence what you were doing when you turn back on, and a shock to laptop won’t cause headcrashes as easily cause head isn’t active most of time. Plus much less power is used.
