hybrid laptop HDDs with 1 gig of flash memory alongside traditional magnetic disks are coming out this year, i believe asus it was...can&#039;t remember, but they are fucking mad. HDD disk is only spun up  when new files are open, but all OS files and program files in use stay in hardstate cache, hence a power out doesn&#039;t make your programs close, you can just recomence what you were doing when you turn back on, and a shock to laptop won&#039;t cause headcrashes as easily cause head isn&#039;t active most of time. Plus much less power is used.
