Spiderman Turning Black?

February 24th, 2006 at 3:06 pm by johnsee (Movies)

spiderman3.JPGNow in movie news, Superherohype has an exclusive Spider-Man 3 photo. The first thing that hit’s you when you see the image is the fact that his suit doesn’t look his trademark red.

Given the rain, the colour could easily be explained by a black and white photo, however, the site claims the photo is meant to be colour.

Time shall tell with the movie set to be released in April 2007.

Top 10 Sci-Fi Movies That Don’t Exist

February 17th, 2006 at 8:19 pm by johnsee (Movies)

scifihead.jpg

Doc and myself have an ongoing joke in real-life. We’re both huge Matrix fans, and after seeing the mistake that was Matrix: Revolutions, we now blatantly refuse that movie exists. It’s amazing how many people will begin to believe you if you continue to be adamant that the third movie hasn’t been made.

Pointless Waste of Time has an article on the Top 10 Sci-Fi Movies that were never made, and it looks like they agree with Doc and I. Also on the list, suggestions for better versions of: Star Wars, Doom, Aliens 3 and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

Baywatch Movie on the Way

February 13th, 2006 at 6:00 pm by johnsee (Movies)

baywatch.JPGPamela Anderson will film a cameo in the new ‘Baywatch’ movie. The sexy star, who shot to fame playing a lifeguard in the hit TV series, will make a guest appearance in the big screen adaptation of the show. Rumours had been rife Pammy would star in the movie, but it is now been revealed the original female cast - which included Carmen Electra and Traci Bingham - will be replaced by a younger crop of beauties.

Director Eli Roth said: ‘Pammy and the original cast will most likely do cameos in the movie. But for the main cast, they want to go with a new crop of hotties. The other producers spoke to Pamela about it and she said she’d love to do a cameo. For me it wouldn’t be ‘Baywatch’ without her.’ Meanwhile, ‘Baywatch’ creator David Hasselhoff has revealed the new film will include crime-fighting lifeguards. He said: ‘It will be set in different locations around the world. There will be lifeguards who are also sent on crime-busting sprees.’

Comment: Lifeguards who are sent around the world on crime-busting sprees? You have got to be kidding!

Great DVD Ripping Guide

December 28th, 2005 at 4:44 pm by johnsee (Movies, Tech & Science)

I’m incredibly busy at the moment at work and I’m spending only a few secs a day at home on the computer just to check my email. But Here’s a quick post, its a great guide to DVD ripping…
—-
Ripping a DVD to xvid or divx avi is really quite easy, if you have the right tools. You’ll first need to download DVD decrypter and auto gordian knot (autogk). DVD decrypter allows you to rip the raw DVD video and audio data off of your disk drive, decrypt the CSS protection, and finally remove any other protection schemes, such as Macrovision. AutoGK is a package of codecs and a GUI interface that will take the raw DVD data through an AV processing pipeline to produce a single windows video file.

Sin City II Plot Revealed

December 16th, 2005 at 12:35 pm by johnsee (Movies)

Sin City has to be one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. Using a graphic novel style and a huge cast of A-List stars, its incredible story had be glued to my seat for hours. Now Sin City II is in preproduction, and the stoyline has now been released:

"It’s one of those hot nights, dry and windless. The kind that makes people do sweaty, secret things. Dwight’s thinking of all the ways he’s screwed up and what he’d give for one clear chance to wipe the slate clean, to dig his way out of the numb gray hell that is his life. And he’d give anything. Just to cut loose. Just to feel the fire. One more time."

One of the other new additions will be Vinnie Jones to play the part of Juggernaut and Ben Foster to play Angel. News of the movie hasn’t spread properly yet, however it is expected that the third film in the series experience higher box office ratings than its predecessors.

Halo Movie Script Review

November 7th, 2005 at 8:35 pm by johnsee (Movies)

The first review of the script for the upcoming HALO movie is out, and the outlook looks good. Movies based on computer games seem to be doomed to failure. Tomb Raider and Doom are the only two movies that come to mind that haven’t failed dismally. This review for HALO however, paints a very different picture:

Halo opens with a series of scorched snapshots. Fragments. As memory. This is MASTER CHIEF’S DREAM.
We open on a SPARTAN HELMET, and a REFLECTION in its visor.
In the reflection, we see buildings. The design and architecture of the buildings tell us this is not Earth. The suns are low in the sky, and bathing the landscape blood red.
We snap back to show the full figure of the SPARTAN and folks we are introduced to MASTER CHIEF (MC for short for the rest of this review). Seven foot tall, clad head to toe in MJOLNIR armor, holding a MA5B ASSAULT rifle. We pull back some more to reveal behind MC, another fifty SPARTAN WARRIORS. All the Spartans have their gaze directed at the skies where a vast shadow or cloud is eclipsing the twin suns.
Only this shadow turns out to be literally thousands of Covenants drop ships! (I can’t wait for these WETA toys!) We cut to a battlefield across the wasteland where the Spartans and the Covenant are locked in ferocious combat.
